PROTECTION
OF INTELLECTUAL AND INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY

The
Ramon Llull University, which is continually carrying out
research projects from the Vicerectorate for Research and
Technology, has set itself the goal of supporting Research
Groups. In this connection, the URL has been part of the Network
of Promotors of Industrial and Intellectual Property (XPPI)
since April 2004. This network is promoted by the Centre for
Corporate Innovation and Development (CIDEM),
which depends upon the Catalan Regional Government, or Generalitat.
The aim of the PPI Network is to raise awareness of the importance
of the creation and protection of Industrial and Intellectual
Property of the university community within the university
sector. It also seeks to afford all possible assistance to
Research Groups so that they can market their creations and
thereby make Catalan universities leaders in technology and
knowledge transfer.
In early 2005, the following were members of the PPI Network:
the University of Barcelona (UB), the Autonomous University
of Barcelona (UAB), the Polytechnic University of Catalonia
(UPC), the University of Girona (UdG), the University Rovira
i Virgili (URV) and the Ramon Llull University (URL).
